Cleaning the Corrected Dall-Kirkham Primary and Secondary mirrors
Our CDK telescope’s mirrors have not been cleaned since it was acquired two years ago. Generally, it is recommended to clean reflector mirrors every 1 to 2 years, depending on the environment. Here are the details after some challenging moments. The following outlines how the cleaning should be approached. It is very important not to deviate from these instructions or be inventive, as these guidelines are based on actual experience, and any deviation may cause damage and frustration. Let’s start with the list of items needed.

- Best quality Type I Deionized Water (1 Gallon) – Ultra-Pure Lab Grade Water De-Ionized water.
- “Seventh GenerationSeventh Generation Dish Liquid Soap Free & Clear liquid soap Dishwashing Soap Dish Soap ” (do not substitute) get here.
- Professional Kimtech Science Kimwipes, 280/Box. (do not substitute) other Kimtech Kimwipes have caused issues.
- Three (3) separate non-reactive container preferably glass.
